Multiple explosions were heard across Iran's Qeshm Island and the nearby city of Bandar Lengeh on Monday, with US media reporting that American forces carried out strikes in the Hormuz region, according to Al Jazeera.
The strikes came even as President Donald Trump suggested headway was being made in talks with Iran aimed at ending the eight-month conflict between the two countries, according to France 24.
