The San Diego Padres made their offseason roster moves official Sunday, declining club options on right-hander Nick Pivetta, Lucas Giolito and Griffin Canning, according to the Associated Press via Yahoo Sports. The decisions make all three pitchers eligible for free agency this winter.
Pivetta's option was worth $14 million for 2027. The move ends his run with San Diego after two seasons and $23 million on his previous deal, per the AP.
While parting ways with that trio, the Padres chose to exercise their option on Hart, keeping him under contract for the coming season. The team's pitching staff will now look notably different heading into next year as front office decisions reshape the rotation and bullpen mix.
