BC Partners Credit, the financial backer helping LIV Golf navigate Chapter 11 bankruptcy proceedings, has scrapped its plan to launch a new version of the league in 2027, according to a Wednesday report from the Financial Times cited by Yahoo Sports.
The firm had reportedly pledged as much as $300 million to back the overhauled league, but the plan fell apart because organizers could not secure enough commitment from players to make the relaunch viable.
The move marks a setback for LIV Golf as it works through its financial restructuring, raising fresh questions about the league's long-term future and its ongoing rivalry with the PGA Tour.
