LeBron James' lawyers have sent a cease and desist letter to an AI sports-betting app accused of using the NBA superstar's name and likeness without authorization, according to Yahoo Sports.
James was not alone in pushing back. Other athletes also issued cease and desist demands after the app reportedly used their identities in advertising without consent, Yahoo Sports reported.
The dispute highlights growing friction between AI-driven advertising tools and athletes' control over their own name, image and likeness rights, an issue that has become increasingly contentious as AI-generated content spreads across marketing and betting platforms.
