The Los Angeles Lakers have brought Will Iger, son of new Lakers co-owner Bob Iger, on board as the next announcer for the team's G League affiliate, according to Yahoo Sports.
The hire comes months after Bob Iger, the former Disney CEO, teamed up with venture capitalist Joshua Kushner to strike a deal in August for a majority stake in the Lakers valued at $12.5 billion, per Yahoo Sports.
While broadcasting roles for developmental league affiliates typically draw little national attention, the appointment stands out given the family's new ownership ties to the NBA franchise.
