Joe Thomas has opened up about one of the biggest what-ifs of his NFL career, revealing that Peyton Manning once tried to recruit him away from the Cleveland Browns to join the Denver Broncos, according to Yahoo Sports.
Despite the Browns' struggles during his tenure, Thomas explained he never seriously considered pushing for a trade, even with a future Hall of Fame quarterback making the case for him to leave. His comments shed light on the loyalty and mindset that defined his decade-plus with a franchise that rarely contended during his playing days.
Thomas, who spent his entire career in Cleveland and is regarded as one of the best offensive tackles of his generation, chose to stay put rather than chase a shot at a championship elsewhere, per Yahoo Sports.
