A Hong Kong court sentenced prominent pro-democracy activist Joshua Wong to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to charges of foreign collusion, according to Bloomberg.
The charges fall under the national security law imposed by Beijing, which has been used to prosecute dozens of activists and former lawmakers in the city in recent years.
Wong has long been one of the most recognizable faces of Hong Kong's pro-democracy movement, having first risen to prominence as a teenage activist before becoming a repeated target of prosecution under the security law.
