Florida State supporters took their frustration with the football program to the skies ahead of the Seminoles' matchup with Clemson, chartering a plane to tow a banner over Doak Campbell Stadium calling for head coach Mike Norvell to be fired, according to Sporting News.
The message was meant to pile pressure on Norvell seven years into his tenure, but it quickly became a story of its own after fans and reporters noticed the banner misspelled his last name as 'Novell' instead of 'Norvell.'
The typo turned what was intended as a serious protest into a punchline across social media, overshadowing the underlying frustration from fans who have grown restless with the program's direction under Norvell, Sporting News reported.
