An HVAC technician by trade, Chris Donisi has landed an unexpected new gig: speaking to millions of travelers as the public address voice of Boston's Logan International Airport, according to NPR.
Donisi won the role through a contest held to find a new voice for the airport's announcements, beating out other entrants for the chance to deliver the boarding calls, safety reminders and gate changes heard throughout the terminals.
The switch from climate control systems to the airport's sound system marks a dramatic career pivot, turning a behind the scenes tradesman into the anonymous but instantly familiar voice guiding passengers through one of the country's busiest air hubs.
