Florida's men's basketball team opened the new season with a victory and kept its grip on the top spot in CBS Sports' Top 25 And 1 rankings, according to Yahoo Sports.
The ranking reflects the earliest snapshot of the college basketball season, with Florida's opening-night performance enough to keep the Gators ahead of the rest of the field to start the year.
As the season progresses, the rankings are expected to shift based on results, but for now Florida enters the schedule as the team to beat.
