Aston Villa manager Unai Emery acknowledged his team is not yet equipped to challenge the continent's best sides after a 3-0 Champions League defeat away to Barcelona, according to Yahoo Sports.
Emery pointed to the gap in quality exposed by the result, saying his squad still has work ahead if it wants to compete consistently at that level in Europe's premier club competition.
The loss serves as a reality check for Villa as they continue to find their footing against the continent's traditional heavyweights in this season's Champions League campaign.
