Developer platform WorkOS has disclosed a data breach after an attacker exploited an internal sales application, according to BleepingComputer. The company said the intruder used an AI system called ARTEX to gain access.
Once inside, the attacker was able to view business contact records and summaries of communications with customers, BleepingComputer reported. WorkOS, which provides authentication and identity infrastructure tools for other developers, has not disclosed exactly how many customers or contacts were affected.
The incident highlights a growing trend of attackers turning AI-powered tools against the very companies that build or rely on them, using automated systems to probe internal applications for weaknesses rather than relying solely on traditional hacking methods.
