The Milwaukee Brewers are World Series champions for the first time in franchise history after beating the Tampa Bay Rays in Game 5 of the 2026 Fall Classic, according to Yahoo Sports. Jacob Misiorowski and Cooper Pratt were singled out as key figures in the series-clinching win.
For the Rays, the loss extends a frustrating title drought despite a standout season. Tampa Bay posted the best regular-season record in the American League at 98 wins, then rolled through the postseason by sweeping the New York Yankees and knocking off Cleveland before running into Milwaukee in the championship round, Yahoo Sports reported.
Despite the deep playoff run, the Rays remain without a World Series title, a familiar storyline for a franchise that has come close before but not closed the deal. The Brewers, meanwhile, finally broke through for their first championship.
