Bihar's cricket selectors have turned to teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi to lead the side into the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, according to Yahoo Sports. The 15-year-old will take over the captaincy as the team searches for a turnaround after a rocky run of results.

Bihar had already cycled through two captains this season without success. Sakibul Gani led the side for the first three Ranji Trophy matches before Mangal Mahrour was given the armband for the game against Goa, but neither change managed to stop the team's slump, Yahoo Sports reported.

Handing the leadership role to a player as young as Sooryavanshi marks an unusual gamble by selectors hoping fresh energy and a new voice in the dressing room can reverse Bihar's fortunes in the upcoming tournament.
